We have 130 young girls within our schools with a lack of menstrual hygiene support due to limited access to products. We have worked with the teachers of both schools, to identify a reusable sanitary pad to provide a safe and infection free experience. We found Safepad which is made of a soft, durable and breathable fabric, that offers protection and comfort. It is easy to use, ensures high and immediate absorbency and is reusable. We conducted a three month trial of the Safepad product with 20 girls and 5 teachers. The trial consisted of all girls being supplied with one box of Safepad and 3 pieces of new underwear. The feedback of the trial was very positive with girls feeling a lot more comfortable and confident. With the success of the trial, we rolled this project out across the remaining 110 girls in January 2022.
